Orlando Sanchez initially ventured into Muay Thai and eventually crossed paths with Alberto Crane, a respected Gracie Barra athlete who introduced him to the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After a highly successful year as a brown belt, which included winning prestigious tournaments like the Pan American Championships and the Brazilian Nationals in both his weight class and open weight divisions, he was awarded the coveted black belt in September 2012. This remarkable achievement made Orlando one of the fastest Americans to attain the rank of black belt in BJJ.
