Lisa Rinna quashes the long-running rumors about the sexuality of her husband Harry Hamlin.
Lisa Rinna Puts an End to Old Rumors About Harry Hamlin’s Sexuality
After almost 29 years of marriage, Lisa Rinna is drawing an equally big line, finally addressing the persistent rumors about her husband Harry Hamlin’s sexuality.
“How about one last time we clear this up: Harry’s totally heterosexual,” Rinna, a former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, wrote in her latest book, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, out Tuesday.
“In no form, shape, or manner is he a gay man, not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course,” she added.
Rinna, who is 62, pointed out that she had never even heard the thing about Hamlin, 74, until she became part of Bravo in 2014. She quickly brushed off the talk as reality TV drama at its best, saying, “Bitches will say anything to get my hackles up, so it’s not a thing that worries me. I always thought more along the lines of, ‘why you mad, boo?’”
The star, who quit the show last year, explained that the question of one’s spouse’s sexuality was only one of the ways they used to stir up the audience on the show, as she said, “I think it must have been the case that every husband had his sexuality questioned at some point.”

Lisa Rinna Says That Harry Hamlin’s First Film Role Caused Gay Rumors
Lisa Rinna thinks that the long-standing speculations about Harry Hamlin’s being gay are partially due to his Hollywood image and a daring career choice he made early on.
“When you’re a handsome man in Hollywood and you’re well-dressed, people just assume you’re gay,” Rinna commented.
She mentioned that the falsely accused rumors got sharper after Hamlin starred in the 1982 film directed by Arthur Hiller, Making Love. Besides the movie being a daring move, Hamlin’s character Bart McGuire is a gay man who has an affair with a married man.
“Even now, films about gay people are not very common, but back then it was something people did not even dream of,” Rinna went on.
She wrote a few lines about her spouse’s courage in taking the part, “He does what feels right to him. He felt that it was a very important thing to do. Harry was very brave in his choice, and it has cost him dearly.”
Rinna alleges that the choice had a negative impact on his career, stating that Hamlin was “block listed for several years” and it took him 40 years to get a major studio film again with the 2023 release of 80 for Brady.
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin Stay “Unbothered” by Persistent Rumors
Lisa Rinna told that despite the career setbacks that followed his early film choices, Harry Hamlin hasn’t had any regret for his role in Making Love. “Even now, Harry says he would do ‘Making Love’ all over again because it was such a powerful movie,” she shared in her autobiography. “What Harry did for a lot of people was change their lives completely, and that is exactly why he wouldn’t want to change a thing about it.”
Lisa Rinna, a Days of Our Lives actress, said that she and Hamlin have been totally “unbothered” by the rumors about his sexuality that continue to be raised. Moreover, she pointed out the strong base of their marriage by saying that they have “a great deal of trust” between them and that the thought of him cheating is the last thing on her mind.
“I would be totally surprised if I ever found out that he was cheating on me,” said Rinna.
They got married in 1997 and have two daughters together, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray.
Rinna after almost thirty years together is sending out a message their relationship is way beyond gossip.

Lisa Rinna Reflects on History of Marriage and Intimacy in 60s
Harry Hamlin was married to Laura Johnson from 1985 to 1989 and Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan from 1991 to 1992 before he got married to Lisa Rinna.
Lisa has continually kept the fans updated about her and Harry’s private life, telling Cosmopolitan in 2024 that although they still “have great sex together” the frequency has changed due to “the natural evolution of life.”
The couple’s relationship has changed in many ways over time and less than a year ago the 62-year-old actress revealed in February 2025 on the Who’s the A–hole podcast that intimacy has actually gotten better in her 60s. She explained that increased “confidence level” was one of the things that made her feel “much more grounded” now than when she was younger.
