Danny Dyer Talks About Ending His Addictive Behaviours and How He Is Managing Sleep Apnea
Danny Dyer, the star of the Sky One program The Dyers’ Caravan Park, has talked openly about how he keeps getting up at night after he stopped alcohol and drug addictions. Dyer while playing role in EastEnders told that he was “off his nut” due to his addiction. He was so unfocused that he went to rehabilitation.
However, Dyer is now dealing with sleep apnea, for which he wears a gum shield to help him reposition his jaw. He confessed that he has a habit of unnecessary eating before bedtime, which disturbs his sleep even more. After a sleep-deprived night, he took to social media and revealed his annoyance with the adjustment of the gum shield. “Again, it was the food, ” he wrote.

Danny Dyer openly talked about his eating disorder that’s been a part of his life for years. He shares how he sometimes eats at strange times when he needs a bit of comfort. “Last night I took up some hot dogs, out of a jar, sort of like a frankfurter. I took three and put them on a plate… Anyway, I took the fourth one out. So I’ve had four f***ing frankfurters, ” he confessed, revealing that he’s currently hooked on tomato sauce for his dipping needs.
He further opened up about his difficulty with other munchies. “I’m still trying to work through my Scampi Fries because I’ve got a whole (load of) pub snacks. I’ve had a big bag of McCoy’s in there. I took two different kind cream eggs. I smashed through both eggs. Bad sleep, ” he explained.
Danny Dyer on Food as a Replacement for Past Addictions
Recently, in an interview, Danny Dyer revealed that addiction is something that stays in a person even after giving up the drugs and alcohol. At one point, he was even asked if he is replacing the dope, he is getting from substances with food. Danny who celebrates his 48th birthday on September 24, and also known as a Rivals star, agreed that this is the case with him. He said, “Definitely the thing about it is that it never really leaves you.” This is a part of it, yes… definitely, it never really leaves you.”
During the interview, Dyer talked a bit about his rehab experience, during which he was trying to get off drugs and alcohol. However, he does not seem to be fully successful in controlling his eating, “Maybe that’s why, when you go to rehab, there is Overeaters Anonymous, ” he said. He was making a point about the link between drug and alcohol addiction and the addiction to food.

Danny Dyer Opens Up about Food Addiction and Dependence Patterns
Danny Dyer talked about the dangers of addiction and the various forms of it. He said, “Eating and drinking and drugs, you know there’s so many different kinds of addictive patterns that need to be addressed and you can be all in the same room at once.”
He confessed to food addiction and said, “I could stop, I’m not hungry I suppose. Some people want to take a glass of water to bed, as you should, I just happened to take two different styles of cream eggs.”
He called himself a “workaholic” and stated that even when he picked a healthier food for a bedtime snack, it would have been just another way of satisfying his addiction.
During the Live and Let Dyers podcast, he said, “Then I’m still sort of doing it, I’m feeding it.” But he conceded that making healthier choices would be a wise decision. He went on, “You’re right. Take some carrots up.”
