The band made the announcement on social media, saying that he passed away peacefully early Saturday morning after a cancer battle, and that he was with his wife, family, and loved ones at the time of his death.
The band recognized Arnold for being instrumental in changing the sound of rock music through his 3 Doors Down work, which resulted in huge hits such as “Kryptonite”—a track he wrote while attending a high school math class.
“His music journey was not limited to the stage but his songs became a source of connection, happiness, faith, and shared experiences that will continue even when the stages he performed on have been forgotten,” the message ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌continued.
