Holy Cow! You Can Now Rent the Home Alone House

Take a look inside the iconic house in Home Alone

How would you like to spend a night in the now-iconic house used for Christopher Columbus’s blockbuster Christmas hit, Home Alone?

To celebrate the release of Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+, Airbnb is giving people the chance to book a stay for up to four guests at the McCallister residence located in Winnetka, Illinois.

The catch? The offer is available for only one night on December 12 for USD$25.

If you are lucky enough to score the booking, Airbnb says you’ll be responsible for getting yourself to the Windy City. Anyone interested in giving it a try can request to book the stay on December 7 at 2 pm EST.

What’s perhaps more surprising is that according to the listing, it’s actually Buzz McCallister, the elder brother of Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin from the 1990 film, who will be hosting the stay…

You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” Buzz is quoted saying in a press release, “but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.”

“We may all be older and wiser now, but we’re never too old for holiday hijinks,” Buzz goes on. “So this year, spend the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ house.”

About the Home Alone Home

This holiday season, we’re playing by my little bro’s rules, so feel free to eat junk food, watch rubbish on TV, borrow my dad’s aftershave and choose your own adventure with a legendary battle plan as a guide. Just stay out of my room, okay?

After you’ve worked up an appetite, you can feast on all the comfort food your hearts desire, including plenty of Chicago’s finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Then, when you’re ready to wind down, you can enjoy a viewing of the film franchise’s newest holiday adventure, Home Sweet Home Alone, on Disney+.

‘Tis the season of giving, so in honor of the first-ever stay at the McCallister home, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital, which is dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for each of its patients with complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness.

Other things to note

A member of my McCallister Security team will ensure a comfortable stay for you and your family, including showing you around, arranging meals and gifting you with a LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to take and build at home.

Those looking to book should note that this stay’s rules require strict adherence with local COVID-19 guidelines. Onsite staff will follow applicable local, state and federal guidelines as well as Airbnb’s COVID-19 Safety Practices, which include wearing a mask and practicing social distancing when required by local laws or guidelines, and abiding by our five-step enhanced cleaning process. Guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Chicago.
