Madonna was surprised by an unusual family photo with five out of six of her children as she celebrated her 68th birthday in Greece for the week.
The Queen of Pop, who bagged a massive 11 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) nominations yesterday, was a proud parent when she held her daughters Lourdes Leon, 29; Mercy James, 20; twins Stella and Estere, 13; and son Rocco Ritchie, 26. Musical lovebird and Madonna’s boy toy at the time, Akeem Morris, also attended the celebration. Kid from “Confessions II” is the mother of son David Banda, 20, who was absent from this photo.

Madonna, who always gives fans a glimpse into her private life with every picture set she posts, was no different this time around. The caption on this particular one read, ‘It’s My Birthday! Madonna is preparing to release her latest collection entitled “Confessions II,” which will be a follow-up to the dance chart-topping masterpiece “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” The names of those shortlisted in competing categories at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) were released very early in the afternoon after sunrise. One of the songs from the album is The Test, a duet with Lourdes, who has inherited her stage legacy by carving out her own career path as a singer. Madonna gives an honest reflection regarding how she ‘did her best to make you perfect. ‘Although Madonna is now very close to Lourdes, the two have spoken about their difficulties in previous interviews.
Lourdes’ 2021 post revealed how she referred to her mother as a ‘babe’ only to admit her mom was a control freak and how she relied mostly on her own money for tuition and her first apartment in order to free herself. ‘In my family, there are no handouts. In a 2019 Vogue interview, Madonna complimented her ‘insanely talented’ eldest child but added that the young woman did not share her mother’s passionate desire to become such a famous personality. Lourdes, since setting off alone, has modeled, become a prominent public relations figure for celebrities, and has pursued an underground music career as well.
