Rap artist Poorstacy from Florida dies at 26 after a reported incident in Boca Raton
Florida rapper Poorstacy has passed away at the age of 26. The rapper known as Carlito Milfort Jr. was reported to have died following a “incident” in Boca Raton, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 29, the Boca Raton Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE on Tuesday, Dec. 2. TMZ was first to break the news of his death.
There is no information released regarding the death and no cause of death has been confirmed. According to local authorities, a hotel in Boca Raton was the location of the call on Saturday, before they could find Poorstacy, who was later taken to a hospital nearby after being injured. Billboard reported that officers found the rapper after they arrived at the scene, but he was later taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to a hotel staff member who gave information to TMZ, after a medical emergency, Poorstacy was taken to the hospital. He was the only one to be hospitalized. It was reported that he had been staying at the hotel for 10 days and had checked in with a woman and a toddler. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for additional information immediately.
On Instagram, Travis Barker — the drummer of Blink-182 who worked with Poorstacy on the 2020 songs “Choose Life” and “Nothing Left” among others — expressed his condolences and paid a tribute to the rapper. “Rest in peace you’ll never be forgotten,” the Blink‑182 drummer wrote on his Stories along with a broken heart emoji and a video of them performing Poorstacy’s 2020 song “Hills Have Eyes.” Besides that, Barker also shared a brief segment of the song “Choose Life.”
Oli Sykes honors Poorstacy after genre-blending rapper’s death
One of the most talked-about collaborations throughout the years was the one between Poorstacy — whose music style was a blend of emo rap, hip-hop, punk rock, and heavy metal — and Oli Sykes, the lead vocalist of Bring Me the Horizon. Besides that, Poorstacy has a track in the 2020 Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack that was later nominated for a Grammy.
On Instagram Stories, Sykes remembered the lovely time he had with his friend and made a tribute post. He shared a photo of the two of them and wrote “R.I.P” plus a black heart emoji.

Poorstacy’s recent social media and music releases
Poorstacy hasn’t posted anything on Instagram since August. In that month, he uploaded three photos of him sitting in a car, and in one of the pictures, there was a child.
In a solo effort, the last thing we heard from him was a single called “Nothing belongs to you.” that came out in July this year. After that, he collaborated on a track by Paris Shadows called “Last Time Around,” which dropped in October.
