Kylie Kelce Explains Her Silence After Engagement News

“I have purposely chosen not to talk about Taylor and Travis on this podcast,” Kylie said on the Not Gonna Lie Sept. 11 episode. “Because, quite frankly, news outlets, tabloids, and AI just like to pick only those quotes that they find from whatever I say regarding them, and repost.”
Choosing Privacy Over Public Statements
The mother-of-two who became the sister-in-law of Travis after marrying his elder brother Jason Kelce back in 2018, gave it out clear that she knows Taylor as well as Travis and hence she doesn’t feel the need to make any public statements.
“I don’t have to say anything when I have already spoken with them,” she told. “I don’t need you to use my words and analyze them.”
Nevertheless, Kylie was not hindered in any way to cheer the pair on after their mutual decision to get married as the fling turned into a long love story, and she congratulated them on their engagement with her words on Aug. 26.
Welcoming Taylor Swift Into the Family
“Really, I couldn’t be more happy for them,” Kylie said who is co-parenting Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 4 months with Jason. “We are so glad that they are going this way. The girls are so happy to have a new aunt. I am so happy for them and I am so thankful that we get to officially welcome Taylor into our family.”
Meanwhile, Kylie was stressing the point about the need for boundaries. “But it’s our thing,” she explained. “That’s my brother-in-law Travis and my soon-to-be sister-in-law Taylor. I just don’t need to talk about them all the time. We keep our relationship private. It’s okay that it wasn’t the last episode where we had the chance to congratulate them.”
Keeping the Celebration Personal
Kylie, in making it clear to the fans that Taylor and Travis got her congratulations personally, emphasized how much they share a bond that is not just a close one but also quite different from the relationship they have with the outside world of the podcast.
“I don’t always have to comment on what they’re doing in their lives,” she explained. “Cause I can just text them and tell them.”
While Kylie, who silently supported the couple by liking their Instagram engagement post, was celebrating, her and Jason’s daughters also shared the excitement.
She happily shared, as a guest on Good Morning America Sept. 5, “We could not be more excited for them and what the future holds. We love love, and we love Taylor and Trav.”
