Morgan Wallen Defends Pittsburgh Concert Cancellation Amid Weather Backlash

This morning, Morgan Wallen’s team came onto the bus. Told Morgan that while they are still talking to the local officials, they found out that Morgan should cancel his show in Pittsburgh tonight. Morgan was like, “Why do I have to cancel the show?” They told Morgan that there are going to be winds in the area. Morgan said “ok” to that.

So Morgan did what he was told after that, and he trusted his team.
Farther east, gusts began tearing through patches of Pennsylvania, even though Pittsburgh stayed mostly calm. Winds skipped the city but grabbed hold elsewhere across the state.

Morgan Wallen Says Safety Came First in Pittsburgh Concert Cancellation

“The truth is, I’ve got a pretty big stage that under those circumstances could be deadly to many people around me, ” he said. “So I made the most of what I knew at that time.”

He went on, “My hardcore fans probably realize that’s not really how I function, but I had to speak up.”

That morning, the 33-year-old let fans know that the second night of his Still The Problem Tour in Pittsburgh was canceled because of the possibility of bad weather in the area and that refunds will be given for the trouble.

Right after the announcement, people started to guess on social media about what other reasons could have made him cancel the gig.

“Morgan Wallen cancelling his show last night is just hilarious because after I finished work an hour later, the time was 11 pm, and then I simply went outside, and guess what? Not a single drop of water on my car, ” the user wrote on X. “No rain at all. The man was in fact already on his way back to Tennessee.”

On the other hand, another X user guessed that Morgan “had already boarded the plane and was heading home when the announcement came that his Pittsburgh concert was cancelled.”

Morgan Wallen Responds After Onstage Piano Incident Sparks Backlash

Still, the man who sings “Cowgirls” wasn’t new to crowd trouble during shows. A short time ago, something went wrong with a piano at his performance on May 29 in Denver, Colorado – after that, he flipped it over when frustration took hold.

A few days later, Morgan talked about his actions.
“Hey, I just want you guys to know that this piano is working right now, ” he said in a June 2 TikTok, before the camera showed a red piano. “And that’s what they told me last night, too.” Wallen labeled his post, “Can’t you tell I’m so distressed over my piano.”

Morgan Wallen Abruptly Left the Stage of Saturday Night Live

Out of nowhere in New York… it just ended. When Morgan Wallen showed up to sing on the March 29, 2025, SNL episode, plans were set – team up with host Mikey Madison for the last bit. Then silence. However, after Anora Star said goodbye to viewers, the country singer surprisingly gave her a little hug and left the stage, thus breaking the tradition of hanging out with the cast during the credits roll. Wallen Pleads Guilty to Chair-Throwing Incident

A chair got tossed from the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville, officers said, when they took Morgan Wallen into custody that April. Not long after—eight days gone—he spoke up about what happened.

That winter month of 2024 saw Wallen stand in court, accepting blame for tossing a chair – two minor charges stuck. Probation followed, lasting twenty-four months, while time at a drunk-driving program became mandatory – a full week behind those walls.

Morgan Wallen Used a Racial Slur

Facing the public through E! News, he admitted discomfort. Words like that should never leave anyone’s mouth, he noted. Regret poured into his message. What slipped out wasn’t okay, he emphasized. A phrase he’d erase if time bent that way. Fans heard him say it straight – shame lives in those syllables now. Never okay to speak like that, under any circumstance. From the bottom of my heart, sorry for saying it. I promise to do better.”

“My words matter, ” he said in an Instagram video later that month.

He broke SNL’s COVID-19 rules.

He was supposed to perform on SNL in October 2020. Then pictures and videos of him partying in Alabama surfaced online. Singer apparently violated COVID-19 rules put in place by SNL, so he was removed from the show.

He should have been the guest; however, that will not be the case. “I was preparing for SNL this Saturday when the show phoned me to tell me that I would not be able to perform anymore, and that’s because of COVID protocols, which I understand, ” Wallen said through a video that he posted on social media at that time. I do not think I have COVID for sure. Falling short Saturday and Sunday shows clearly now – each choice tugging at my health, shifting what I hoped for. This path won’t lead where I hoped. Trying something new feels strange, yet necessary now. Different attempts might uncover what was missing before. I will take a break from being in the eye for a while and think about my life.”

Morgan Wallen Arrested After Nashville Bar Incident

Morgan Wallen said, “I headed into town with a few friends.” We went to a bar. Morgan Wallen was joking around with those friends. We did not mean any harm and want to apologize to any bar staff or anyone who was affected.”

According to Tennessee’s Howard Gentry Criminal Court Clerk online court records, the charges against Wallen were dismissed in July.

Morgan got arrested for driving while drunk.

Wallen got arrested in 2016 by Tennessee police for driving while drunk. Online court records also show that his charge was dropped later that year.
