John Force Fiery Crash: NHRA Legend John Force Moved to Neurological Intensive Care!

John Force, a National Hot Rod Association racer, is presently in the neurological intensive care unit after spending three days in the trauma unit after his horrific collision at an NHRA event in Virginia on June 23. In a tweet that was published on Thursday, June 27, the John Force Racing account on X (which was then known as Twitter) announced Force’s transfer. The decision enables the medical staff to “focus on [Force’s] head injury, which is their primary concern,” as the 75-year-old patient had previously said.

A flaming collision occurred on Sunday, during the first round of eliminations for the NHRA Virginia Nationals Funny Car competition, which took place at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg. Force was engaged in the collision. An explosion occurred in the engine of his Chevrolet Camaro just after he crossed the finish line with a triumph at a speed of 302.62 miles per hour over Terry Haddock. The vehicle driven by Force crossed the centerline of the track and collided with the concrete guard wall on the left side of the track before being catapulted to the guard wall on the right side.

In response to the most recent advancement in therapy, his family expressed a “positive” reaction. His family has been at his side for the whole week, including his wife Laurie, and his children Ashley Force Hood, Brittany Force, Courtney Force, and Adria Hight.

As well as the enormous amount of emotional expressions of prayer, support, and concern, the Force family would like to express their gratitude to the medical experts who are providing care for John. As the statement on X said, “Thank you for continuing to respect the privacy of the family and the members of the John Force Racing team.”

Following the John Force Racing Sunday post on X, Force was assessed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHRA) medical staff at the track on Sunday. He was then taken by medical helicopter to a “nearby medical center for further evaluation in the intensive care unit.”

After that, on the evening of June 24, the account revealed in a follow-up statement that he continued to be in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

“Due to the extreme force of the collision, the attending medical professionals were deliberately taking their time in determining the full degree of the injuries sustained by the Hall of Fame owner and the driver. Before the completion of a comprehensive assessment, the medical team will not give a treatment and recovery schedule, as stated in the statement.

Neff, who had previously served as the crew chief for Gary Scelzi, a competitor, continued to compete in a fourth Funny Car for JFR beginning on October 26, 2007, when Eric Medlen passed away, and continuing until the conclusion of the 2009 season.

However, in 2010, after a 2009 season in which Force did not win a single race, Force parked his fourth vehicle and instead appointed Neff as his new crew chief. Before this, Force had not won a single race in 2009. In the end, Force was able to secure his fifteenth National Hot Rod Association Championship. A number of the drivers and broadcasters in the sport of drag racing refer to him as “Brute Force.” This is a moniker that he gained as a result of his overwhelming victory during his run of 10 consecutive National Hot Rod Association titles. “The First Family of Drag Racing” means that Force, his daughters Courtney, Ashley, and Brittany, his granddaughter Autumn Hight (granddaughter), and her father Robert Hight are all members of the same family.
