Eamonn Holmes suffered a stroke and his hospitalisation comes at a time when he was constantly facing health issues

Lately, the 66 years old, Eamonn Holmes, the GB News presenter was stroke struck and consequently was rushed to hospital. It was Tuesday when the sudden illness led him first to the hospital and now he is undergoing treatment at a ward. The event came about just a short time after he had suddenly gone off the news programme, following a live broadcast during which in the fans’ opinion, he was slurring and falling asleep on air, which they rightly considered to be very concerning.

Eamonn Holmes, who was expected to be back at GB News on Monday, unfortunately, will be away for an indefinite period due to a stroke that was made public last week. GB News through a brief communication informed fans that Holmes is “responding well to medical intervention” but he has asked for his privacy to be respected as his main focus is on recovery.

His co-workers as well as the network gave him their heartfelt wishes and are eagerly looking forward to his return, whenever that might happen.

While he is away, Alex Armstrong will serve as the presenter for the show that Holmes and Ellie Costello co-host Monday through Wednesday. GB News CEO Angelos Frangopoulos underscored Holmes’s treasured existence gracing the GB News family and committed to rendering support throughout his recuperation.

Holmes has opened up about his ordeal with the TV-related ill-treatment linked to his age and the fact that after having a double hip replacement back in 2016 and slipping discs along with a dislocating of the pelvis in 2021 his mobility has been limited.

Eamonn Holmes is returning to GB News on Mon day, 13 April, after a short break that made viewers worry about him.

The presenter who has is.delegate and many other serious illnesses is facing health. He major spinal surgery, double hip replacement, and chronic back issues throughout his life. After he almost fell asleep and behaved in an unusual way on air on 11 March, the presenter “whispers” of his health were made by fans.

Though the channel said at first that he was on annual leave, sources revealed that the break was very unusual for the one that “breathes and lives” the television presenting. Eamonn’s last time on air, fans observed that the presenter was having difficulty in things like capping a pen and seemed to be closing his eyes during the live interview. His return is a highly awaited comeback as he still finds time for his professional life in between physical recovery.

Holmes reacts to accusations of falling asleep during live broadcast

Eamonn Holmes closed his recent interview by wishing the audience a good day, “We’ll see you first thing in the morning, bright and early, ” he said.

Nevertheless, he revisited the matter of whether or not he was dozing on air.

Talking to Hayley Palmer at an An Audience With… event in London’s Hippodrome Casino, Holmes said, “Actually, I was looking down at the pack attached to my microphone to find out why it was not working as there are no floor managers or camera operators in the show.”

With a smile, he explained

“They say I was sleeping? Ha! Whatever!”

setting the record straight and laughing off the report, he said as The Mirror reported.
