Dwayne Johnson discloses ‘really painful’ cancer scare, and the reason he didn’t tell wife Lauren Hashian

Dwayne Johnson Reveals Secret Cancer Scare He Kept From His Family

Dwayne Johnson opened up about a recent health worry involving possible cancer. This one stayed private. Not even his partner, Lauren Hashian, knew at the time. The moment caught him off guard. He chose silence then. Now he shares it straight.
In a new interview with Esquire, the 54-year-old actor explained that he was showering one day when he felt a lump on his testicles that “hurt when he touched it.”
Three days passed before he saw the doctor. That visit brought a probable diagnosis—epididymitis. Inflammation shows up in a small tube behind the testicle. Sperm are stored there. The condition fits what he described.

Yet doctors told Johnson there might be cancer, so an ultrasound had to follow immediately—except his schedule was full, tied up with appearances for the upcoming “Jumanji” film.
“So I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to be on all day, joking around, making speeches,” he told Esquire.
He said he kept the health issue a secret from Hashian, who is 41. Not once did he mention it.
“I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about,” Johnson explained.

He Says He Uses ChatGPT for Workouts after Revealing a Cancer Scare.

Johnson married Hashian in 2019. Jasmine, their child, is ten, while Tiana just turned eight. On another path, Simone grew up outside that bond – she came into the world through Johnson and Dany Garcia—and now stands at age twenty-four.
Fine again, the “Smashing Machine” actor says, brushing off what happened. A moment passed, yet he was back on solid ground without fuss. “But I didn’t know that then,” he said, “and the thing was really painful.”

Johnson mentioned during another part of the talk that he leans on ChatGPT when pushing through tough workout routines.
“Within three seconds it comes back with a training program that’s lights-out, pencils-down spectacular,” he said. “Like it came from ten of the greatest coaches I’ve ever worked with.”
That particular routine got Johnson saying he’d just had a damn amazing session. He called it super precise, the kind that pushed him hard. What stood out was how targeted each move felt. The way things unfolded left him fully spent, in the best way possible. It hit differently from what he’d tried before. Every part connected, nothing wasted.
