WWE female superstars have scratched and clawed for the spotlight they have today. Let’s not forget trailblazers like Mae Young, Alundra Blayze, Lita, Trish Stratus, Jazz, Mickie James, Candice Michelle, AJ Lee, Paige, and others who have paved the way for today’s female superstars. A few decades ago, the thought of women having their WrestleMania moments was inconceivable. Not only have today’s female superstars had their WrestleMania moments, but some have had the honor of main-eventing WrestleMania. These top 10 WrestleMania women’s matches solidify greatness in the women’s division.
10. AJ Lee and Paige vs. The Bella Twins WrestleMania XXXI
The AJ Lee/Bella Twins rivalry is one of the most entertaining of all women’s storylines. Taking their feud all the way to WrestleMania XXXI, AJ Lee found an ally in Paige, who teamed up with her against the Bellas.
With the Bellas playing the mean girls, it was nice for AJ Lee and Paige to represent the outsiders, given that they are outcasts in real life. Paige proudly exclaimed in her promo to the Bellas before WrestleMania that she and AJ represent ‘the freaks, geeks, weirdos, and all the other outcasts.’ Their authenticity put them over. Fully behind AJ Lee and Paige, the crowd enjoyed every bit of this match. AJ Lee and Paige emerged victorious. It was a wholesome moment as everyone celebrated their win.
9. SmackDown Women’s Championship Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match WrestleMania XXXVI
As the top heel in the women’s division, Bayley had a huge task ahead of her by defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Naomi, Lacey Evans, Tamina, and her friend Sasha Banks at WrestleMania XXXVI. Though Bayley felt invincible, the odds were stacked against her with five other competitors coming for her title.
Considering there wasn’t an audience at WrestleMania XXXVI due to the pandemic, all five competitors still gave an outstanding performance. One positive outcome from no audience is the storytelling was more noticeable. The trash talk could be heard more clearly which made for a fun match. They truly made the best out of unfortunate circumstances.
Bayley overcame the odds to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Thus, she made it very clear in that moment that it was going to take a lot to dethrone her as champion.
8. Trish Stratus vs. Lita vs. Jazz WrestleMania XVIII
Three of the women who paved the way for today’s female talent put on a terrific match at WrestleMania XVIII. With the Women’s Championship on the line, Trish Stratus, Lita, and Jazz were looking to make a statement.
The champion Jazz had unfavorable odds due to triple threat rules. In an action-packed match, all three competitors pushed each other to their limits, putting on one of the best women’s matches of the decade. After a grueling battle with Lita and Trish Stratus, Jazz successfully retained the championship. These three women set the standard for the next generation of female superstars.
7. Fatal 4-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship Match WrestleMania XXXVIII
In another huge milestone for the women’s division, several female superstars were thriving in the tag team division. The Women’s Tag Team Champions Carmella and Queen Zelina had their hands full with three teams coming for them.
Natalya & Shayna Baszler, Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan, and Sasha Banks & Naomi were looking to dethrone the champs. The match lived up to expectations and then some as all four teams put on an amazing performance. By outlasting the other three teams, Sasha Banks & Naomi became the new Women’s Tag Team Champions in one of the biggest nights of their careers.
Becoming the two first African American women to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship was a major accomplishment for Banks and Naomi. How awesome is it for this monumental moment to take place on the grandest stage of them all? A well deserved achievement for both performers!
6. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley WrestleMania XXXVI
Two of the biggest stars in WWE, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, were set for a collision course at WrestleMania XXXVI. Rhea Ripley being a rising star as the NXT Women’s Champion felt like a threat to Charlotte Flair. Thus, Charlotte Flair was looking to validate her supremacy by adding another championship to her impressive resume.
This match was basically the female version of Superman vs. Batman. Being evenly matched, everyone knew that these two would tear the house down. Of course, neither of them backed down. Some of the most solid ring skills were shown in this match between these two well-polished athletes.
Even without fans due to the pandemic, Flair and Ripley had terrific chemistry as the trash talk between them could easily be heard. As far as storytelling goes, these two nailed it in this match. After a hard-fought battle, Charlotte Flair won the NXT Women’s Championship, another major accolade in her career.
5. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka WrestleMania XXXIV
Of the many talented opponents Charlotte Flair has faced, none of them were quite on the level of Asuka. Being a rising star in WWE, The Empress was already making an impact with an undefeated streak going into WrestleMania. The SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair needed to be ready for Asuka to successfully retain.
As expected, Charlotte Flair and Asuka put on an amazing match with great chemistry. The crowd was on their feet, clearly appreciating the passion shown by both competitors. Clearly, it could have gone either way. Charlotte Flair prevailed against Asuka to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Afterwards, the two showed great respect towards one another. The Empress acknowledged Charlotte Flair exclaiming, “you were ready for Asuka.” What a nice moment it was between two of the biggest stars in wrestling today.
With a solid story being told, this was easily one of the best matches of WrestleMania XXXIV.
4. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks WrestleMania XXXII
Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks became the three horsewomen of WWE by kicking off the women’s revolution. WrestleMania XXXII was the ultimate opportunity for them to battle in a triple threat match for the Women’s Championship.
These three rose to the occasion in this highly anticipated match. The fans couldn’t get enough of the excitement in the ring. Considering how well the three of them worked together in NXT, it was no surprise to see their natural chemistry. After battling hard with The Man and The Boss, The Queen Charlotte Flair outlasted the others to win the Women’s Championship.
Raising the bar for the rest of the women’s division was accomplished through this match as Flair, Lynch, and Banks gave a spectacular performance.
3. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey WrestleMania XXXV
Main-eventing WrestleMania was a huge win for the women’s division, something female superstars have dreamed of for many years. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Ronda Rousey earned that opportunity at WrestleMania XXXV to unify the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.
This match definitely lived up to the hype as all three superstars put on an amazing performance. There were no other female athletes more deserving than these three, and they proved it in this one. Surprisingly, Becky Lynch overcame the odds by winning the match to unify the championships. It was the start of a legendary championship run for Lynch as she carried the division with pride.
Of the many great matches at WrestleMania XXXV, this one stole the show.
2. Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch WrestleMania XXXVIII
Becky Lynch was on a hot streak as the Raw Women’s Championship as she seemed unstoppable. Finally, a worthy challenger came along for Big-Time Becks, the EST Bianca Belair. In one of the most iconic rivalries in WWE, these two were set to battle at WrestleMania XXXVIII with the championship on the line. Greatness was about to unfold.
This championship run levelled up Becky Lynch as she was one of the biggest heels in sports entertainment. A few years earlier, no one ever pictured Lynch as an arrogant heel. She played the role to perfection. Becky Lynch’s dirty antics put Bianca Belair over easily as everyone was itching for the EST to end The Man’s championship reign.
After winning the Elimination Chamber, momentum was on Belair’s side. Becky Lynch’s days as champion were numbered as Bianca Belair had her sights set on winning her second Women’s Championship in WWE.
Bianca Belair won the Raw Women’s Championship in one of the most entertaining matches of the night. Winning her second championship was a glorious moment for the EST.

Becoming the two first African American women to main event WrestleMania was quite the accomplishment for Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. With the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line, these two extraordinary performers put on a clinic at night one of WrestleMania XXXVII.
Being the biggest rising star in WWE, Bianca Belair was looking to win her first championship. However, Sasha Banks wasn’t going to make it easy as she was holding it down as champion. This was easily a 5-star match as these two had excellent chemistry. At last, Bianca Belair’s hard work paid off as she won the SmackDown Women’s Championship in this history-making match.
