Jessie J reveals health troubles including stroke at 17 and recent cancer diagnosis
Jessie J, 37, shared an update with the world about her difficult health journey. She was born with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a congenital heart condition, and in fact, she was also diagnosed with breast cancer this past March. However, her health problems are definitely not a recent thing – she had a stroke when she was only 17.
“I just got my first record deal, and I had a stroke,” she said to The Guardian in an interview published on Nov. 29. “I was on the train, and my face just dropped.” She didn’t waste any time getting to a doctor who suspected she had a minor stroke and it was decided that an ambulance should be called. Jessie was in the hospital recuperating for four to five weeks.

Jessie J opens up about more health problems which include a car accident that made her voice impaired
Three years after her stroke, Jessie J informed the public that following a car accident, she suffered an injury to her larynx and thus she couldn’t sing for a year.
“In 2020, as I was about to release some music, I had a car crash and my larynx was injured,” she recalled, “I couldn’t sing for a year.”
In spite of the fact that she was battling health issues, among which was the diagnosis of breast cancer in June, Jessie asserted that they gave her power. “I seem to have an addiction to being diagnosed with things,” she quipped. “So maybe the cancer is just a part of that.”
Jessie J attributes her power to her parents during her tough times
According to Jessie J, her toughness was already there when she was a kid, which is her parents’ credit that they were always there for her even though she had a heart condition. “My mum and dad always did such a great job of not making that the definitive thing in my life and not making me define my character by my worst days,” she thought back. “It was incredible and has been my strength ever since.”

Jessie J reveals her difficult health journey to bring cheer to others
Jessie J, the mother of a 2-year-old boy named Sky, whom she shares with the basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, admitted that she wishes her openness about her health problems will help not only her but also other people who will find similar situations.
“I’ve shared my struggles before and that has helped me a lot. People then come to me with their love and support, but also with their own stories, which they share with me,” said Jessie in an Instagram video on June 3rd. “It really breaks my heart to know that so many people are going through such difficult things, similar to mine, and even worse.”
She was quoted as saying, “I open up about everything and there is nothing that I keep to myself.”
