Andy‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Dick Refuses to Admit He’s ‘Going’ to Rehab After Alleged Overdose in ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Hollywood

After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Reported Overdose, Andy Dick Says He Won’t Go to Rehab

Andy Dick has made it clear that he is not going to rehab after he was reportedly found to have an apparent overdose on the Hollywood streets earlier this week.
On the way to the TMZ offices, Dick, 59, was asked if he would be willing to seek “professional help,” to which he responded, “I’m not going to be in rehab.” It’s a no.”
In the video, Andy also joked about calling Dr. Drew and asked the TMZ reporter if they should get help too.
“Do you think that you’re in a good place right now?” the photographer asked, and Dick replied, “Love it, I’m surrounded by my two friends … it’ll be hard for me to escape from them, but I will ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌escape.”

One of Andy Dick’s friends admitted that the comedian sometimes “goes through hard times” and reminded people around him to not let him alone and check on him.
The actor’s representatives didn’t immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Andy Dick decided against rehab after he was photographed appearing to be passed out on some stairs outside a building while friends were seen trying to help him, according to the photos obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
The comedian later allegedly told TMZ that he was alive and okay, but he didn’t give any details about the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌incident.

Authorities‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Confirm Overdose Response Involving 59-Year-Old Man

As first reported by PEOPLE, Andy Dick was “taken home by a friend” after the situation, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) which has now confirmed the information.
A Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) spokesperson also told PEOPLE, “I can confirm that we responded to the corner of Highland and Yucca at 7-Eleven for a 59-year-old male at 3:14 p.m.,” but they refused to reveal the patient’s identity due to HIPAA regulations.
“However, we did go to that location because of an overdose. The person in question was not taken to the hospital,” said the LAFD.
“The LAPD was on the scene to handle an overdose call involving an ambulance,” the department said, also choosing not to confirm the identity of the person whose name they referred to. They stated, “This was a medical emergency ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌issue.”

It‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is also worth mentioning that Dick, a father of three grown children, two sons Lucas, 37, and Jacob, 31, and a daughter Meg, 28, has in the past battled with alcohol and drug addiction. A representative for the LAPD informed PEOPLE that in June 2021, he was arrested by the police on the suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Following that, he was allowed to go on $50,000 bail.
During a Kermit and Friends YouTube show live broadcast, Elissa Jordana, Dick’s ex-fiancée, said, “It was just the worst week with him. ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌The situation kept getting worse and worse and more out of control, and there was a problem every single day. We could see that it was going to end like ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌this.’

Andy‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Dick’s Past Controversuries and Separation from Elisa Jordana

It appears that after Dick’s 2021 incident, Jordana broke up with him the following month. She expressed that she “felt relieved” when he was incarcerated as she thought some people in his circle were “more dangerous than people in jail.”
In addition, back in 2017, Dick lost a movie role due to allegations of sexual harassment. When‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ charged, he said to The Hollywood Reporter, “I am not the one who groped anyone. It could be that I kissed someone on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌them.” That’s my thing,” but he still made this absurd defense.
He rejected the notion that he had purposely done sexual ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌harassment.
