Taylor Sheridan Bought the 6666 Ranch For $330M — Twice the Size of Chicago

However, circumstances were reversed when, in 2021, Sheridan decided to buy 6666 Ranch, a ranch of great fame, also known as the Four Sixes, that featured as the location of the backdrop in lots of episodes of season four of Yellowstone.

The ranch is so extensive that it is almost double the size of the whole city of Chicago. It was a part of one family for over 150 years before Sheridan took ownership of it. He acknowledged that if he were to buy this ranch at any time, he would still continue working on his other job for a very long time.

Sheridan revealed that “the company had wanted me to make an overall deal with Paramount, and I turned them down, while I really think, at the time, I was planning to go for greener pastures and leave them and go somewhere else, leaving Paramount to their own devices. But they feared it and had been for years, I guess, trying to get me to sign an exclusive deal with Paramount. However, after this thing happened, I gave them a call and said, “You realize I have changed my mind and will go ahead and do the overall deal.” They responded with, “Fantastic, now do you have a figure?” and I answered, “Indeed, a big one!”

He explained how the situation unfolded after he had made the decision to purchase the ranch by going back to Paramount and starting the negotiation to acquire the amount of money required.

The very successful and rich screenwriter-director shared with the press this week a revelation about his past when he was broke and even slept in the streets because Hollywood was his main ambition while being broke and homeless. ‘Two times,’ he said to Town & Country, ‘I had been really homeless.

I spent almost the entire day in the car. Ojai, or whatever place it was safe to sleep, was where he would sometimes be. ‘ said he. ‘At any time, I could have thought, “I will get a regular job and abandon this dream.” ‘
