Ray J Sued legal trouble by American Express Over $78K Unpaid Credit Card Debt
The singer faces a new lawsuit alleging breach of contract and unpaid balances on his account.
Ray J is facing legal action as American Express claims he has not paid a significant credit card debt.
According to a complaint filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles and obtained by PEOPLE, Amex is suing the 45-year-old singer for breach of contract, mentioning an unpaid balance of $78,704.56.
The documents, which also include Rajun Cajun Inc., a company supposedly linked to Ray J, indicate that he stopped making payments on the account around October 2024.
This lawsuit follows a separate case filed by Amex in November 2025 against Ray J and his company Tronix Network, seeking $139,849.85 in unpaid bills, according to Complex.
Ray J’s Legal and Personal Issues
After a recent livestream incident, the singer has had several lawsuits and criminal allegations against him.
American Express is another company pursuing a breach of contract lawsuit against Ray. The company claims Ray stopped making payments on his account in May 2025.
Ray J was arrested on November 27, 2025 for allegedly threatening his estranged wife, Princess Love, during a livestream argument. According to TMZ, the singer was charged with making a criminal threat and booked into a Los Angeles jail, where he was given a bail amount of $50,000. Ray was released from jail later that same day.
Video footage from the livestream has gone viral, showing Ray accusing his wife and other people of trying to “drive drunk.” The former couple has been married for less than three years, and Ray started his livestream by saying he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the f—-ing world.”

Currently, musician Ray J (junior) is involved in legal action with Kim Kardashian in relation to his likely showing her in a tape from the 2003 release that was mistakenly shipped out. He has publicly stated he and Kris Jenner were part of a continuing federal investigation.
‘Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought claims of defamation before, nor were they distracted by the rumors around Ray J; however, this fraudulent and serious allegation forced them to act,’ said attorney Alex Spiro for People Magazine in October 2025.
